Classic American cars take to the streets of Bucharest on US Independence Day

Romanian investor and former tennis player Ion Tiriac will mark the US Independence Day, celebrated on July 4, with a parade of classic American cars. Ten cars from the Tiriac Collection gallery will take to the streets of Bucharest on this day.

The parade will start at 11:00, at the Tiriac Collection gallery located on Calea Bucurestilor street in Otopeni. The cars will then follow the route Bucuresti-Ploiesti road – Kiseleff street – Ion Mincu street – Aviatorilor blvd. – Maresal Constantin Prezan blvd. – the Arch of Triumph – Kiseleff street – Bucuresti-Ploiesti road - Dr. Liviu Librescu blvd. – the US Embassy in Bucharest - Tiriac Collection gallery. After the parade, the cars will be displayed outside the gallery.

The public will have the chance to see two Ford models – a 1939 DeLuxe and 1957 Thunderbird, a Chevrolet Corvette from 1958, a Dodge Charger from 1968, two Chryslers – a 1933 Imperial and a 1949 Town & Country, a Lincoln Continental Cabriolet from 1948, a Packard Super Eight from 1936, a Cadillac Series 62 Convertible from 1950, and a Cord 812 Custom Beverly from 1937.

The Tiriac Collection features 150 cars and motorcycles, including well-known American brands such as Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Cord, Duesenberg, Ford, Stutz, Willys, Packard, Pierce Arrow, Pontiac, Lincoln, and Harley Davidson.

The Tiriac Collection gallery is open from Friday to Sunday, between 10:00 and 20:00. Tickets cost RON 15 for adults and RON 6.5 for students and pensioners.
