Swedish Skanska to invest EUR 33 mln in second phase of its Green Court office project in Bucharest

Swedish group Skanska will invest EUR 33 million in the development of the second phase of the Green Court office project in Romania’s capital Bucharest. The construction contract is worth EUR 20 million, the group announced.

The investment as well as the construction is carried out by Skanska Commercial Development, through its subsidiaries Skanska Property Romania and Skanska Construction Romania.

Work on the new office building B of the Green Court project started in April 2014 and should be finished in May 2015. It will comprise of about 18,000 square meters, with twelve floors above ground level and three underground. The second phase also includes the underground structure for the third building of the complex.

The first phase of the project, which includes office building A, with some 19,500 square meters of leasable area and the underground parking for buildings A and B, is almost finished. The company’s investment in the first phase was EUR 46 million. Building A should be completed in autumn. It is already 90 percent leased by clients such as Orange Romania and Schneider Electric.

Both buildings in Skanksa’s Green Court project in Bucharest will undergo LEED certification process confirming their compliance with the principles of sustainable development, optimal energy consumption and superior work environment.
