09 February 2011

German rock band Scorpions will play a concert in Bucharest on June 9, at Zone Arena, part of their farewell tour, called Get Your Sting and Blackout World Tour, concert organizers said Wednesday.   The tour kicked off in March last year in Prague and will continue until the end of 2012.

"We've negotiated nearly a year with the band's management and we really wanted to see Scorpions one last time in Bucharest. Scorpions have a lot of fans in Romania and they pot on a fantastic show," said Sorin Sararu of Project Events, the company organizing the concert.

Scorpions is a rock band from Hannover, Germany, known for their 1980s rock anthem "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and their singles "No One Like You", "Send Me an Angel", "Still Loving You", and "Wind of Change". The band sold over 75 million albums worldwide in their career spanning over 45 years.

The band released its 22nd album, Sting In The Tail, in March 2010.
