Sanctions of almost EUR 2 mln for fuel traders in Romania
Romania’s National Tax Agency (ANAF) has applied sanctions of over RON 8.6 million (EUR 1.8 million) for irregularities on the fuel trading chain.
Tax inspectors have controlled 533 companies transporting and trading fuel between March and July. They issued 132 warnings and 296 fines of over EUR 727,000 and seized cash and assets of about EUR 1.1 million, according to ANAF.
The inspectors found violations of the legal conditions for authorization and operation. They also discovered that fuel retailers were selling energy products without legal certification by intermediaries.
Gas stations were also trading fuel without the use of authorized metering and control facilities.
