Samsung wants to sell 1,000 of its new Ultra HD curved TV sets in Romania

24 April 2014

Samsung hopes to sell 1,000 units of its newly launched Ultra HD curved screen TV in Romania. Prices for the new device start at RON 14,000 – or EUR 3,100, and can reach RON 20,000 – or some EUR 4,400, according to Wall-Street.ro.

The 55 and 65-inch versions of the device are on sale in Romania, and the 78-inch version will also be launched in the second half of the year. This will sell for over RON 25,000 – or some EUR 5,500.

Samsung estimates curved screen TV sets will bring at least 10 percent of the 4K TV market in Romania by the end of the year.

Producers say the curved screen produces a larger viewing "sweet spot", and which creates a sense of immersion and depth. Samsung said it was targeting buyers who are passionate about movies but who don’t want to put a projector in their home.
