The Romanian roofing products market reached EUR 75 million in 2010, with metal roofing covering half of the market, according to an estimation by Finnish company Ruukki Romania. The company saw an increase of 8 percent in its metal roofing sales in Romania last year on the previous. Metal roofing makes around 16 percent of Ruukki Romania's sales.

The company expects to witness a slight drop in the weight of renovations among its revenue sources, along with an increase in demand for products for new constructions. Ruukki expects 75 percent of its sales in Romania to come from renovation projects in 2011.

Finnish Ruukki owns a production unit in Romania, where it invested EUR 35 million. Worldwide, the company is active on 26 markets and posts yearly sales of around EUR 2 billion.
