Romania’s Simona Halep continues to go down in WTA ranking

After the defeat in her first match at Doha, Romanian tennis player Simona Halep has lost yet another place in the WTA ranking of the best women’s tennis players in the world. She currently ranks fifth, with 4,745 points.

According to the latest WTA singles ranking, American Serena Williams continues to be the world's best player, with 9,245 points, followed by Germany's Angelique Kerber – 5,700, Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska – 5,450, and Spain's Garbine Muguruza – 4,831.

Halep ended the 2015 season on the second place. She fell to third after this year’s Australian Open tournament, being surpassed by Germany’s Angelique Kerber, and then went down to fourth.

Besides Halep, the other Romanians in the top 100 are Monica Niculescu (34), Irina-Camelia Begu (36), and Alexandra Dulgheru (67).
