Romania's public television records EUR 18 mln loss
Romanian state-owned television TVR closed 2014 on a EUR 18.4 million loss.
The public television had last year revenues of EUR 123 million and expenses of EUR 141.4 million.
The total debt amounted to EUR 158 million at the end of 2014. TVR owes EUR 99.5 million to the state budget, according to television representatives, reports local Mediafax.
TVR’s losses were due to penalties of EUR 14.2 million and provisions of EUR 11 million.
According to TVR representatives, the loss was also caused by the current fiscal obligations, such as the VAT and local taxes, amounting to EUR 23.5 million.
