Romania's Nuclearelectrica and Hidroelectrica raise money through public primary offers

Romania state – owned companies Nuclearelectrica and Hidroelectrica, the largest energy producers in Romania, will increase their share capital by 10 percent each through public primary offers on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, the Economy Ministry has decided. The state will give up on its right to subscribe to this capital increase, allowing investors to become shareholders in the two companies.

Fondul Proprietatea investment fund, which owns shares in both companies, will keep its stake in them if it will also subscribe to the capital increase. The Fund owns 9.72 percent in Nuclearelectrica and 20 percent in Hidroelectrica.

Romania has pledged to sell minority share packages through the Bucharest Stock Exchange in several state-owned companies.
