Romania's inflation rate, down to 7.93% in June

The annual inflation rate went down to 7.93 percent in June, after reaching 8.41 percent in May in Romania, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS). Compared to May, consumer prices also fell by 0.29 percent in June.

For food products, the biggest price increases recorded in the first half of 2011 were for fresh fruits, with an increase of 2.19 percent, and eggs, with 0.50 percent. For non-food products, the largest increases were recorded for cars and car parts, of 0.75 percent, and fuel, with an increase of 0.66 percent, while for service segment, the air transport has increased by 2.02 percent.

According to National Bank of Romania's representatives, the risk of price increases in 2011 are possible due to adjustments in the structure and dynamics of administered prices.
