Romania’s cosmetics producer Farmec plans to open first store in Bucharest this year

20 February 2014

Romanian cosmetics producer Farmec plans to open its first store in Bucharest in 2014. This will be the company’s second store in Romania after the one opened in Cluj in 2013, according to Mircea Turdean, general manager and shareholder of Farmec, quoted by local business daily Ziarul Financiar.

“We plan to bring a store in Bucharest, even this year, but we have to search for a space and to decide if we want to open it in a street area or a mall,” he said.

Last year, the Romanian company invested EUR 360,000 in its Beauty Center in Cluj, near its factory.

Farmec’s products are currently present in over 11,000 stores and pharmacies across the country.

In 2013, the company upped its turnover last year by 14 percent, to some EUR 30.6 million, mainly fueled by new investments in recent years and by products launched in 2013.
