Romanian tennis player Horia Tecau wins first tournament in 2015

Romanian tennis player Horia Tecau (photo ,right) and his partner Dutchman Jean-Julien Rojer (left) won the doubles competition of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, on Sunday, February 15.

This is their first trophy this year. Tecau and Rojer previously reached the final in the Sydney Open and the semifinals of the Australian Open in Melbourne, in January.

In the Rotterdam final, Tecau and Rojer beat the British-Australian pair Jamie Murray/John Peers in three sets, ended 3-6, 6-3, 10-8. Murray and Peers had surpassed the Romanian/British couple Florin Mergea/Dominic Inglot in the semifinals.

Tecau, 30, is currently 10th in the ATP doubles ranking. He and Rojer are also currently second in the ATP Doubles Team Rankings. Florin Mergea and Dominic Inglot are fourth in the same ranking.
