Romanian state-owned Cupru Min will not be listed on the stock exchange

16 December 2014

The state-owned copper mine Cupru Min will not be listed on the stock exchange but will be included in a national copper company, along with Minvest Deva and Moldomin, said yesterday the Economy Minister Constantin Nita.

"Cupru Min’s listing is delayed. The future copper company will have to develop steel work activity, in addition to mining. It will have to process the raw material, not only sell it," the minister said yesterday, December 15, after he announced he was leaving office via the Govt. reshuffle, reports local Mediafax.

Nita said in May that Cupru Min, which holds 60% of Romania's copper reserves, will be listed on the stock exchange next year.
