The highway that connects the Romanian capital Bucharest to the city of Ploiesti will be ready in spring-2012, according to Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc. “Basically, the highway will be ready in December this year, except for a very important bridge that, unfortunately, can’t be completed. Otherwise, it is ready. This means that next spring, in April, the Bucharest-Ploiesti highway will be completed,” said the Romanian PM.

The highway will have a total of 62 km and the value of works amounts to EUR 450 million. The works on the Bucharest-Ploiesti highway are divided in two sections, namely the Bucharest-Moara Vlasiei section made by the Italian consortium Impressa Pizzarotti / Tirrena Scavi, and the Moara Vlasiei-Ploiesti section made by Spedition UMB/Pa&Co International/Euroconstruct '98/Com-Axa association.
