Romanian online airline ticket retailer Vola.ro ranks 1st in Deloitte's technology top

Romanian Internet airline ticket retailer Vola.ro has landed the first position in Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 Central Europe 2011 ranking, the company has announced. This is the first time the competition has been won by a company from Romania. Last year's Rising Star winner, Czech Internet sports site operator LiveSport s.r.o., moved into the 2nd place of this year's main ranking.

Vola.ro posted a revenue growth of 6,219 percent in the last five years.

Five other Romanian companies were included in the top: Teamnet International on the 6th place, Crys Computers on the 28th position, CoSoSys on the 40th place, Fortech on the 43rd spot and AROBS Transilvania Software on the 49th place.

Vola.ro online ticket booking company estimates a turnover of EUR 14 million for 2011, an almost three-fold increase compared to 2010, when the company generated revenues of EUR 5.3 million. The company recorded revenues of EUR 2.7 million in the first quarter of 2011, almost three times more on the same period last year.

Vola.ro was launched in April 2007 as an online ticketing agency. The company is owned by Moisey Ltd. investment fund in Cyprus. Daniel Truica, the company’s managing partner is also a shareholder with a 33.3 percent stake.
