Romanian medieval king Stephen the Great’s “Throne Room” moved to Romanian mall during museum modernization work

06 May 2014

The “Throne Room” from the Court of medieval king Stephen the Great (in Romanian - Stefan cel Mare), the main attraction of the Museum of History in Suceava, Northern Romania, was moved to a mall while Bucovina Museum is upgraded.

The “Throne Room” is opened to visitors in the Iulius Mall in Suceava.

The permanent exhibition at Bucovina Museum, which also includes the “Throne Room”, was closed in March, because the building is to be restored within a project funded through the Regional Operational Programme.

The “Throne Room” includes 15 characters, including Stephen the Great.

Emil Ursu, the manager of Bucovina Museum, said that it was decided for the “Throne Room” to be opened to visitors during the modernization of the museum, as it was the most visited area of the museum.
