Romania’s electricity producer Nuclearelectrica sold RON 86.2 million (EUR 19.2 million) worth of electricity to Electrica Furnizare under ten deals concluded on the local gas and electricity market operator OPCOM.

The contracts were signed on December 18 and the energy will be delivered between January 1 and June 30, 2014, totaling a volume of over 521,000 MWh, according to a statement of Nuclearelectrica.

Electrica Furnizare will pay between RON 165 and RON 165.58 (some EUR 37) per MWh.

Both companies are controlled by the Romanian state, through the Department of Energy.

Nuclearelectrica recorded a turnover of some EUR 323 million (RON 1.42 billion) in the first nine months of the year, up 19 percent year-on-year, and a net profit of EUR 75 million (RON 331 million), from loss in the same period of 2012.
