Romanian Dacia unionists start labor conflict

14 January 2015

Unionists with local carmaker Dacia recently started a labor conflict after refusing to accept the proposals made by the company’s management on the new labor contract, according to the carmaker’s announcement.

“Over the past two months, the administration was permanently open to social dialogue and friendly negotiation, in both the company’s and its employees’ interest. Therefore, the company has already made three offers during negotiations,” according to the company, reports local Mediafax.

“The main concern of Dacia’s management is keeping the activity on the Dacia platform for a long period of time, in three shifts,” reads the announcement.

Representatives of the carmaker announced last week that concluding a collective work agreement for a period of two years (2015-2016) would ensure high manufacturing volumes in the next two years and the three shifts would thus be maintained.
