Romanian corner within the European Bookshop in London to open this week

09 April 2014

The European Bookshop in London, close to the Piccadilly Circus in the British capital, will include a special section for Romanian books starting April.

An online shop selling Romanian books was also launched. This is a project initiated by the Romanian Cultural Institute ICR, and done in collaboration with European Schoolbooks, which manages the bookshop.

This is a first for the ICR, as it represents the first bookshop for Romanian books that it opens abroad.

The 'Romanian corner' will join books in French, Italian, German, Spanish and Portuguese. It will feature classical Romanian authors, as well as the best sold contemporary authors, art albums, as well as support books for learning Romanian. The over 150 books included in this section come from the Romanian Cultural Institute publishing house, and from other well known publishers in Romania.

The online shop www.romanianbookshop.co.uk, managed by European Schoolbooks, will feature many more books in Romanian.

The official opening of this Romanian corner is scheduled for Thursday, April 10, at 19,00 (London time), at the European Bookshop.
