Romanian company Duraziv sells paint worth EUR 1.7 mln in first 10 months

Building materials manufacturer Duraziv, owned by Romanian businessman Daniel Guzu (in picture), posted paint sales of EUR 1.7 million in first ten months of this year, above the company’s previous estimations of EUR 1.5 million. Paint sales represent 10.8 percent of the company’s total business.

“The fact that we managed to sell paint of over EUR 1 million in less than nine months on a dynamic market confirms the quality of the product we created,” said Daniel Guzu, founder and manager of Duraziv.

The company started producing paint in the second half of 2010. About EUR 1 million has been invested so far  in the new production line, according to the company. Duraziv’s paint sales amounted to EUR 585,000 in the first half of 2011, representing 7.5 percent of the total sales, while in 2010, the company posted a turnover of EUR 13.5 million, up 50 percent compared to the previous year.

Duraziv was founded in 2003 and produces building materials such as adhesives, metal profiles, paints, products for interior and exterior finishes, and waterproofing complete system. The company’s adhesives division was opened after a EUR 8.5 million investment in a factory located in the Romanian city of Popesti-Leordeni. The total production capacity of the factory amounts to 200,000 tonnes per year.
