Romanian city to build hot water wellness complex with EUR 20 million

The municipality of Oradea, one of the largest cities in the Western part of Romania, recently approved a EUR 20 million investment project for a thermal water wellness complex.

Some EUR 7.36 million of this investment will be funded by the European Union (EU). The remaining EUR 12.75 million will be provided by the municipality. The sums include VAT.

The objective of this project is to create a modern aqua park which will contribute to improving the tourism and leisure services in the region. The complex will consist of six buildings and seven swimming pools, with a total construction area of 12,200 sqm. It will have a swimming pool for children, one for adults, but also swimming pools for competitions, both for swimming and for diving.

Some authorizations are still needed, but a kickoff date is yet to be announced. Once started, work should last for 10 months.

The complex will be located on a piece of land belonging to the Oradea municipal swimming pool.
