Media: Romanian Banca Transilvania to announce offer for Volksbank customers
Local bank Banca Transilvania completes today, April 7, the acquisition of local lender Volksbank Romania.
It will also announce today its offers for the Volksbank customers who have loans in Swiss francs.
Banca Transilvania will offer a 15% discount to convert loans in Swiss francs into Romanian currency, reports local Economica.net.
The bank will remove the risk fee, which represents up to one-third of the monthly installments. Removing it however doesn’t involve reimbursing the amounts the bank has received so far. Thousands of Volksbank customers have already challenged the risk fee in court, and most of the court decisions were in their favour.
The National Authority for Consumer Protection sued Volksbank Romania and requested the removal of this risk fee.
