Romania wins first medal at Baku 2015 European Games

Romanian athletes Roxana Borha and Elena Meroniac won the first medal for Romania at the 2015 European Games organized in Baku. They ranked second in women’s kayak double 500 m final, with a time of 1:50.925.

Serbia’s team won gold clocking 1:49.904 while the Hungarian team ranked third (1:51.174).

The Romanian team, made of Daniel Burciu, Petrus Gavrila, Constantin Mironescu, and Valentin Cameneschi, ranked 9th in Men’s Kayak Four 1000m final. Hungary got the gold medal while Russia came second and Belarus ranked third.
