Romania officially inaugurates embassy in Estonian capital

Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Meleșcanu will officially inaugurate the Romanian Embassy in Tallinn, the capital and largest city in Estonia, during the visit he is currently undertaking in Estonia.

The Romanian President signed the decree approving the establishment of a Romanian embassy in Tallinn in November 2014 while Estonia opened an embassy in Bucharest in 2015.

The Romanian ambassador to Estonia, Daniela-Mihaela Cămărășan, presented her accreditation letters in November 2016. Up until the establishment of an embassy in Tallinn, the Romanian embassy in Helsinki was representing the country in Estonia. Similarly, the embassy of the Republic of Poland was representing Estonia in Romania.

While in Estonia, the Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister will meet the Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas; the President of the Parliament, Eiki Nestor; and the Foreign Affairs Minister, Sven Mikser. They are expected to discuss topics such as bilateral relations, and EU and international affairs.

The Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister will also visit the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence in Tallinn.
