Romania almost midway in women manager ranking

Romania ranks 53rd among 126 countries worldwide for the proportion of women in manager positions with a share of 31.4%, surpassing countries such as Germany, Austria, Spain and the Netherlands, but is placed below the Republic of Moldova, Hungary, Bulgaria and Poland, according to a study by the International Labour Organisation, cited by local Mediafax.

Jamaica (59.3%), Colombia (53.1), Saint Lucia Island (52.3%), the Philippines (47.6%), Panama (47.4%), Belarus (46.2%), Latvia (45.7%) are the countries with the highest percentage of female managers in companies.

On the opposite side ranks Pakistan, where only 3% of the managers are women, followed by Algeria (4.9%) and Jordan (5.1%).

Romania also ranks 24th among 49 countries worldwide for women in middle and top management positions, with a share of 31.1%.
