Report: Wind energy capacity in Romania doubles in five months on full 2010

06 September 2011

Romania's wind energy capacity more than doubled in the first five months of this year, compared to the full 2010, according to a recent study issued by TPA Horwath Romania and Schoenherr & Asociatii.

Romania has a real chance to become one of the leading users of this form of renewable energy in Europe, which is reflected in the extremely high rate of growth in capacity of 1,071 percent in 2010 versus previous year, according to the report.

“The challenges for the investors lie in the rhythm of growth, but also in understanding and in dealing with the legal and financial requisites,” said Klaus Krammer, Head of German Desk at TPA Horwath Romania.

The full report will be launched on Wednesday at an Energy Forum in Constanta.
