Public transport strike scheduled for end of September in Bucharest
Bucharest commuters should brace themselves for a day without public transport at the end of September with both the Bucharest metro company and the Public Transport Company RATB announcing strikes.
On September 30, the companies' staff will not work until 16,00 hours meaning RATB buses, trams and trolleys will not run during this period.
Unionists will rally in front of prefecture headquarters in several counties across Romania on the day, union leaders announced, asking for higher salaries.
The latest public transport protest was organized by employees of the railways company CFR, who organized street protests in Bucharest earlier in July.
