Luca Patanè (in picture, left side), Chairman of the Uvet Group, was acknowledged as a number one entrepreneur heading a group that is the leader in its sector. The Uvet Group was the only representative of the tourism industry invited to the Summit of Italy's Number Ones.

On February 8, at the Hangar Bicocca in Milan, the first Summit of Italy's Number Ones saw the participation of 100 entrepreneurs that promote the “Made in Italy” concept and keep the flag of the Italian business community flying high across the world. The event was hosted by Class Editori and featured the heads of large as well as small- and medium-sized businesses that are the number one in their respective industries.

Among the participating companies: Alfa Romeo, Cucinelli, Enel, Esselunga, Finmeccanica, Assicurazioni Generali, Piaggio, Intesa San Paolo, Lavazza, Moncler, Prada, Ferragamo, Kartell, Pirelli, Technogym, Tim, Drums, Tod’s, La Scala (Theatre).

Among the high-profile attendees was Luca Patanè, Chairman of the Uvet Group, who was acknowledged as a number one entrepreneur heading a group that is the leader in its industry. The Uvet Group was the only representative of the tourism industry invited to the Summit.

The event, which was at its first edition, was born to promote the exchange of ideas, expertise and projects between Italian business leaders to address the most pressing issues of our time. They discussed the future of Italy's economy as well as innovation, big data, and artificial intelligence.

In addition, there will be two interactive exhibitions promoting the initiative in Beijing and New York.

Since 2002, UVET group developed an extended collaboration with American Express for the delivery of complex tourist services to the corporate environment. Uvet is number 1 on the Italian specialized market and has more than 140 territorial agencies.

The branch in Bucharest opened in 2004 and renders outsourcing services for the other companies of the group. The local UVET branch manages several activities transferred from Italy, both tourist services (car rentals, hotel and plane tickets booking, on any available channel: telephone, e-mail, etc.) for external customers, as well as financial-accounting management services for the group. The local team is made up of more than 150 people and Romania was selected for the employees' ability to fluently and correctly speak Italian.
