Owners of Romanian Petrolul Ploiesti football club, under investigation

Marius Bucuroiu, the general manager of the Petrolul Ploiesti football club, the two main shareholders of the club - Daniel Capra and Nicolae Capra - and four others were arrested yesterday evening by the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) prosecutors, in a criminal case with a loss of over EUR 15 million, reports local Mediafax.

The management of the Petrolul Ploiesti football club is suspected of tax evasion and money laundering with an estimated damage of EUR 15.4 million, according to the head of DIICOT Ploiesti prosecutor Ionut Butnaru.
