Over 19,000 companies became insolvent in 2011 in Romania

A total of 19,651 companies entered into insolvency in 2011 - around 10 percent than in 2010, according to the National Trade Register Office (ONRC), quoted by Mediafax newswire. In 2010, over 21,500 companies in Romania went into insolvency.

Most insolvencies were reported in Bucharest in 2011, with a total of 1,880, followed by Bihor county with 1,320 and Constanta county - with a total of 1,304 companies that entered into insolvency, while the fewest insolvencies were recorded in Romania’s Mures county with just 54 companies that went insolvent.

According to ONRC, there were with 68 percent less suspensions of activity last year, from 66,420 in 2010 to 21,221 last year.
