Non-residential constructions pick up but residential works still down in Romania

The volume of construction works in Romania surged in the first seven months of this year by 2.2 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the Romanian National Statistics Institute (INS).

The construction works for non-residential buildings grew by 11.4 percent, while the residential and engineering construction decreased by 15 percent, respectively 1.8 percent.

In July the volume of construction works increased by 13.5 percent in gross series compared to July 2010, while the month-on-month decrease was of 10.8 percent.
