Music in Romania: Top ten songs played by local radios

Recent data from Media Forest shows that Cat de departe (How far) was the most played Romanian song by local radio stations in the last five years, with more than 12,800 airplays. The song belongs to one of the most popular Romanian rock bands – Holograf. Listen to the song below.

Dream Girl, played by Romanian artist Smiley, came second in the top with 10,229 airplays, followed by Smiley’s Acasa (Home) with 10,105 airplays, Vama’s Perfect fara tine (Perfect without you) – 9,842 airplays, and Elena Gheorghe feat. Glance’s  Ecou (Echo) – 8,966 airplays, reports local Mediafax.

The top ten is completed by Mi-e sete de tine (I am thirsty of you), played by Alb Negru feat. Raflo, Rares, Voltaj’s Da vina pe Voltaj (Blame Voltaj) and Lumea e mea (The world is mine), Andra’s Inveitabil va fi bine (It will be fine for sure), and Vunk feat. Antonia’s Pleaca (Leave).

When it comes to music videos, Tot mai sus (Higher and higher), played by Guess Who and DeMoga, was the most played video on Romanian TV stations in the last five years. The video clip had 8,831 broadcasts between January 1, 2011, and June 30, 2015. Watch de video below.

Smiley’s Dream Girl ranks second, being broadcasted 7,677 times in this period, followed by Vunk feat. Antonia’s Pleaca (Leave) with 6,602 broadcasts.

The rank is completed by the video clip for Shift feat. Marius Moga’s Sus pe toc (Up on heels), Delia feat. Kaira’s Aripi de vant (Wind wings), Smiley’s Dead man walking, C.R.B.L. feat Helen’s Kboom, Maximilian feat. MEFX’s Sophie, Alex Velea’s Minim doi (Minimum two), and Smiley’s Acasa (Home).

Media Forest identifies and monitors TV and radio appearances. The winners of Media Music Awards trophies are decided based on these broadcasts. This year’s edition of the event will be organized in Sibiu on September 3.
