More: green energy sold to the system in Romania for EUR 45-52 per MW

08 September 2011

Green energy in Romania will be paid by a combination of  energy sales to the country’s energy system and the sale of green certificates. The sale of energy to the system in Romania reaches the average price of EUR 45 to EUR 52 per MW, according to More Green Energy. Experts consider that this price will increase in the near future, as the country will have to withdraw from the system several energy stations based on old technology, as of 2015, according to More Green Energy. The price of the green certificate, that green energy producers receive and polluting factories have to buy, is of around EUR 55 per certificate.

Solar farms in Romania have an annual estimated average production of 1,100 to 1,250 hours and estimated total receivables of EUR 380 per MW. Solar wind farms bring six green certificates. In the case of wind parks, these have an annual estimated average production of 2,700 to 3,000 hours and estimated total receivables of EUR 215 per MW, with two green certificates by 2017 and one from 2018, according to More. Hydroenergy producers get three energy certificates for new projects and the estimated value of receivable per MW is of EUR 215.

More Green Energy was created in 2009, as part of More Group, a company that acts mainly in the field of brokerage, bringing in contact green energy project owners and investors.
