Growth in the mining sector and the manufacturing industry brought the total industry turnover in Romania up by 15.2 percent year-on-year in Romania in September 2011, according to the Romanian National Statistics Institute (INS).

On a month-on-month basis, the industry turnover also increased by 13.6 percent in September, due to the 13.9 percent growth reported in the manufacturing industry and the increase of 5.3 percent recorded in the mining industry.

The industrial turnover reported a year-on-year increase of 17.6 percent in the first nine months of 2011, according to INS. Increases were recorded in all sectors. The energy sector reported a growth of 26.9 percent, followed by intermediate goods with a growth of 24.3 percent, and the 16.7 percent increase in the capital good industry.
