Mega Image opens flagship store in Bucharest, with exotic fruits and vegetables on offer [PHOTOS]

Belgian retailer Mega Image, which runs an extensive network of supermarkets in Romania, will today (January 31 ) open its largest store in Romania so far, a 1,600 sqm unit close to Gemeni square. Mega Image's new flagship store will be a concept store, with a section dedicated to exotic fruits and vegetables, as well as rare types of meat, which will be sold in the butcher's area. A fish and sushi area is also include in the store, together with cheese and cold cuts from France and Italy.

Mega Image's new unit will also include stands of several partners, such as Fru Fru, La Strada – for ice cream, Al Melook – for oriental goods, Dopo Poco for pizza, Danone for yoghurt with toppings, Chateau Blanc – french bakery, The tea orchard (Livada cu ceai) – bulk tea and coffee, pastries from Ana Pan and biscuits and macarons from Chocolat.

Customers will be able to buy fruits like rambutan, kumquats and mangustan, as well as vitellote potatoes, kumato tomatoes, wild boar and venison steak, among others.

Mega Image runs 197 stores in Romania, 136 of which are supermarkets, and 61 neighborhood stores under the brand Shop and Go. The new opening came after another Mega Image unit was opened in Otopeni Tunari, on 23 August Street. The unit covers some 900 sqm.
