Medieval castle in Romania hosts one of Europe’s largest open-air opera festivals
Over 170 artists will participate at Opera Nights, one of the largest open-air opera festivals in Europe, organized in Romania this summer. The opera and operetta performances will take place at Corvinilor Castle in Hunedoara, and in the lapidarium of the Dacian and Roman Civilization Museum in Deva.
The fifth edition of the festival will kick off on July 15, at Corvinilor Castle, with Giuseppe Verdi’s Traviata. Verdi’s Nabucco and Johann Strauss’ The Bat are also part of the event’s program at the castle.
The festival will end on July 20 with the Opera’s Ball in Deva. Each of the two locations can host around 500 spectators, according to local Digi24.
Tickets cost between RON 30 and RON 100. See the entire program here.
