Major cat show in Bucharest this weekend

More than 200 cat breeds will go on display and compete at this year edition of SofistiCAT Autumn International Feline Show, organized on September 26 and September 27 at Romexpo in Bucharest.

The theme of the event is Wild West. There will be several breeds of cats, such as Persian, Exotic, Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest, Turkish Angora, Bengali, British Shorthair, Abysiniana, Chartreaux, Devon Rex, Don Sphynx, Russian Blue, and Siamese. Five international jury members will select the winning cat.

The exhibition will stay open daily between 10:00 and 18:00. Visitors will also find products and accessories for cats at promotional prices. Moreover, there will be prize draws for both exhibitors and visitors.

Cat lovers can also donate money for animals in shelters within the “Show that you care” campaign. They can also take a cat home, as animal welfare organizations will bring vaccinated and sterilized cats for adoption.

Tickets cost RON 10. Pensioners pay RON 5 for a ticket and children can enter for free.
