Romanian SocDem leader: Pension law to be approved this year
Romania’s new pension law will be adopted in the new parliamentary session, which starts on September 1, said on Friday Liviu Dragnea, the leader of the governing party PSD.
He added that pensions would not decrease.
“We want the low and very low pensions to start increasing,” the PSD leader said.
The officials haven’t yet discussed about changing the retirement age, he added. The current draft focuses on how pensions are calculated.
Prime minister Mihai Tudose said on Thursday that labor minister Lia Olguta Vasilescu had completed the pension draft law. The bill will be debated in the Government in the next weeks, Tudose added.
