"Little orchestra" Pink Martini to play again in Romania next year

Oregon-based orchestra Pink Martini will perform again in Romania in 2012, in the city of Cluj-Napoca, according to an announcement made by Diesel Events, the organizers of the event. Information about the exact location and ticket prices are yet to be announced.

Pink Martini performed in 2007 at Sala Palatului in Bucharest, in 2009 at the Teatrul National de Opereta in the capital city, while in 2010 they’ve performed during the Ciuc Summer Fest.

The 13 musicians that will bring jazz, classical and pop music on the stage in Romania are China Forbes (vocal), Thomas Lauderdale (piano), Robert Taylor (trombone), Gavin Bondy (trumpet), Brian Lavern Davis (drums and percussion), Derek Rieth (percussion), Martin Zarzar (drums), Phil Baker (bass), Timothy Nishimoto (vocals and percussion), Nicholas Crosa (violin), Pansy Chang (cello), Dan Faehnle (guitar), Maureen Love (harp).

Pink Martini is a “little orchestra” formed in 1994 in Portland, Oregon, by pianist Thomas M. Lauderdale. Their music is inspired by several music genres, crossing from jazz to classical and even pop. Read more about Pink Martini on its official website here.
