Intersport stores post EUR 2.4 mln loss in Romania and Bulgaria

Intersport, the sports store division of Greek retailer Fourlis, posted a loss of EUR 2.4 million before taxes in Romania and Bulgaria, according to the group's financial data. The company runs 16 Intersport stores in Romania and four in Bulgaria. Intersport's total sales on all the markets where Fourlis runs the franchise – Greece, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and Cyprus – reached EUR 81 million last year, up 0.9 percent on the previous year. The retailer made a EUR 3.8 million profit in Greece and in Cyprus.

Fourlis also runs the Ikea franchise in Greece and in Cyprus, as well as in Bulgaria, where it is currently building a store.
