Imtech buys Romanian company and plans further consolidation

Dutch IT&C company Imtech NV has recently entered the Romanian market through the acquisition of Sapphir IT&Managament Consulting GmbH, which also has a representative office in Romania. Sapphir Romania, which has been active on the local market since 2006, has thus become Imtech ICT Romania. The value of the deal has not been revealed.

The company wants to further expand in Romania and is currently negotiating with three companies for a potential takeover, that it hopes to finalize next year, according to Robert Pöll, head of business solutions with Imtech ICT Austria.

Imtech ICT Romania plans to triple its turnover by 2015, reaching EUR 1.5 million. The company offers consultancy for SAP systems in Romania.

Imtech, with over 27,000 employees and 425 subsidiaries across Europe, posted a turnover of EUR 4.5 billion in 2010. The Romanian subsidiary is connected to Imtech ICT Austria.
