Private healthcare provider buys Eastern Romania clinic network
Private healthcare provider Medicover has acquired the Iowemed medical network in Constanta county, in Eastern Romania, for an undisclosed sum.
The Iowemed network is made up of five medical centers, of which two in Constanta city. This adds to the existing national network of 25 Medicover clinics.
Iowemed has a team of over 150 doctors and nurses. Its network offers over 30 medical specialties for both individual patients and corporate employees. The clinic also provides Maritime Medicine services, for those who need specific medical certifications for seafaring activities.
Future plans include the expansion of the team and the range of healthcare services offered locally.
Medicover Romania has been present on the private healthcare services market for over 21 years. Its network of clinics covers Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Iasi, Ploiesti, Brasov, Galati, Pitesti, Navodari, and Eforie Nord. It also has a general hospital in Bucharest.

Medicover’s consolidated business in Romania amounted to EUR 57 million in 2015, up 13% over the previous year.
