Gray economy can go down by 9.9% in Romania

04 December 2014

The gray economy in Romania can go down by up to 9.9% - or about EUR 14 billion - over the next seven years, if a series of measures adopted in other countries are gradually implemented, according to a study run by consulting company PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), cited by local Agerpres.

PwC recommends limiting daily cash receipts and cash ceiling for revenue operations both for individuals and companies, to organize tax lotteries in which those which send a minimum number of tax receipts can receive awards based on random drawings, or for operators to use cash systems connected online to the tax authorities' systems.
