Gold for the Romanian women’s epee team at the World Cup stage in Buenos Aires

The Romanian women’s epee team won gold on Sunday at the World Cup stage in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after defeating Russia in the final, 45-40.

Romania’s team, consisting of Ana Maria Popescu, Simona Gherman, Simona Pop, and Loredana Dinu, defeated the US in the quarterfinals with 45-26 and Estonia in the semifinals with 45-36.

With 352 points, Romania ranks first in the women’s epee World Cup rankings. China comes second with 348 points, followed by Russia with 304 points, reports local Mediafax.

The next stages of the World Cup will take place between March 18 and March 20 in Budapest, April 22 and April 23 in Rio de Janeiro, and May 20 and May 22 in Legnano.
