Foreign direct investments in Romania up to EUR 282 mln in first two months

Foreign direct investments in Romania amounted to EUR 282 million in the first two months of the year, up 35.6 percent compared to January-February 2013, according to data provided by Romania’s Central Bank BNR.

In January-February 2014, the current account balance of payments posted a deficit of EUR 102 million, compared to a surplus of EUR 177 million reported in the same period the year before.

The medium and long term external debt stood at EUR 76.5 billion at the end of February, namely 81.4 percent of the total external debt.
