Five Romanian policemen sent to catch pickpockets in the Netherlands, on King’s Day

Five Romanian policemen will be sent to the Netherlands this weekend to support the police in Amsterdam during the festivities for King’s Day, according to the Romanian Police.

Four of the police officers are from the Bucharest General Police Directorate and have experience in fighting pickpocketing, while the fifth is specialized in information analysis.

King's Day will be celebrated this year on Saturday, April 26. This is the biggest street party of the year in the Netherlands.

King’s Day (Koningsdag) will be celebrated for the first time in 2014, after the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander on 30 April 2013 (what was then still Queen’s Day).
