External debt grows 5.7% for Romania in July

Romania's external debt reached EUR 96.1 billion at the end of July this year, up 5.7 percent on the end of 2010, according to the country's Central Bank (BNR). The debt has however diminished month-on-month, from EUR 97.1 billion at the end of June.

The average and long term debt made the bulk of it – 78.9 percent. The short term debt reached a weight of 21.2 percent. Deposits created by nonresidents on medium and long term reached EUR 8.5 billion at the end of July, from EUR 8.22 billion at the end of 2010.FThe loans from the International Monetary fund, based on the stand-by agreement with Romania were of EUR 9.6 billion at the end of July this year. This didn't include the amount received by the Ministry of Public Finances.
