Pablo Larraín’s Ema opens Bucharest International Dance Film Festival

This year’s edition of the Bucharest International Dance Film Festival opens Thursday, September 3, with a screening of Ema, the latest film of Chilean director Pablo Larraín.

The film, starring Mariana Di Girolamo and Gael García Bernal, premiered at the 2019 Venice Film Festival. 

The festival, which focuses at this edition on the topic of utopia/dystopia, runs a program of film screenings, lectures, and workshops. 

Thirty-two short films were selected for the festival’s international, national, and musicals competitions. 

The screenings in the festival, which runs until September 6, are held outdoors, at Mercato Kultur, Elvire Popesco Cinema, and the Romanian Peasant Museum Cinema.
