Local courier DPD Romania posted a EUR 20.5 million turnover last year, up by 23% compared to 2014. The growth was related to a 33% advance in the volume of deliveries, according to the company.

The courier expects to increase its turnover by 30% this year, as well as boost its deliveries by 23%.

DPD Romania plans to invest in expanding its logistics capacity.

The turnover increase will be supported by the development of the e-commerce market. The e-commerce will generate 50% of the business this year too, said Lucian Aldescu, general director of DPD Romania.

The local courier market will reach EUR 420 million this year, Aldescu added. The market will grow by some 13% compared to last year, when it amounted to EUR 370 million.
