Dafora starts drilling well in northern Romania for Aurelian Oil&Gas

Romanian drilling company Dafora has started drilling works for British company Aurelian Oil&Gas PLC, in a EUR 1.1 million contract. The contract involves drilling a well in the northern Suceava county. Aurelian Oil&Gas hopes to start drilling at a second well in the area late 2012, according to its website.

Aurelian Oil & Gas was formed in 2002 and floated on the London Stock Exchange Alternative Investments Market (AIM) in 2006. The company's country manager for Romania is Vladimir Rosca. Since 1999, he has been involved in all Aurelian's exploration projects in Romania in the Brodina, Cuejdiu, Bacau and Suceava blocks, and more recently in the development project on the Brodina block, according to the company.

Dafora's previous contracts include an agreement with Hunt Oil and OMV Petrom. Dafora is owned by Romanian Gheorghe Calburean.
